Sickness starts from within but so does healing

In recent months and the last couple of years, I must confess that I am coming across more cancer cases, especially amongst young people (anyone younger than me is considered young to me). Even during the time when I was working at National Cancer Centre Singapore(NCCS), cancers were mainly amongst the older folks. So at a time when we should be kicking the big C in the butt, it seems to be gaining the upper hand instead.

I joined NCCS in 2003, to get to understand what in the world was this disease called cancer, and where at that time, most if not all who were diagnosed with it, would perish (at least those that I got to know).

Of course, I was very afraid of this darkness but I was also very intrigued by it.

So when I was personally asked by the then Director of NCCS, Prof Soo Kee Chee to join the organisation, I immediately said yes.

You see, the year before I got the call from Prof Soo, I was the organising chair of a fundraiser, that raised more than $100K for the KKOK fund for children’s cancer. It was a life changing experience and one that shaped my life in fighting this disease.

But in order for me to fight this enemy, first I must get to know and understand it.

Right?

So I completely immersed myself in my work while at NCCS.

Well, the first ‘real’ discovery I made was, this enemy comes from within.

During my time at NCCS, I was very privileged to have private sessions with their top clinician scientists and researchers working there. I had long conversations with Prof Kon Oi Lian, Hui Kam Mun and many others.

Yup! I soaked up all the things they shared with me and I got to understand the demon within better.

In latter years, I have come to the realisation, that this is one disease (amongst many) that we cannot just simply say ‘let’s fight it’. 

I reasoned that maybe it is better to learn how to live with it and to keep a tight lid on this ‘fella’ who may at times go rogue. Yes, we will manage it.

‘Control and management’ is what I would rather do now. And to really nip things in the bud before it gets out of control.

So where is the heart of it all? It’s in our cells of course and nowhere else.

So, my work over the last two decades has been to focus on our wellness at the cellular level.

VigourCells(VC) is the greatest gift God has given me and one that I share with anyone who wishes to partake of it for what I call, ‘the healing from within.’

Not just for cancer but any diseases for that matter that starts from inside us.

Everyday, we are exposed to a lot of free radicals that can easily contribute to 75% of premature deaths, from all known sickness and diseases. Our bodies even make them during metabolism/respiration - these processes create reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can severely damage our DNA and cause mutation leading to sickness and diseases too.

So how does the body protect itself while going through such ‘dangerous’ processes to provide energy for us to do work?

Well, the protectors are called antioxidants. Particularly, a special class called Network Antioxidants.

Now you can understand a little better why my family and I, take our daily network antioxidants supplements so seriously and diligently.

The best thing I can do as a wife and mother is to ensure the good health of my family. Prevention is always better than cure. So even Maurice, Kiki, Jerre, Kitty, Miki and Tom get a dose of VC occasionally too.

I definitely have a lot more to share on this and I look forward to seeing some of you soon at my teaching seminars that will be starting again soon.
